best of friendsMEET THE OWNERSAfter owning Sunflower Cafe for 20 years, Nikos Kontakos moved the business to the corner of its original location and invited his longtime friend to join him. Joanne Venetis owns and manages multiple business here in Southwest Florida.
Kontakos learned how to cook from expert chefs in Chicago diners when he was only 16. His passion and natural talent allowed him to create the recipes for each and every one of his menu items. He founded the Sunflower Cafe to feed the bellies of many and find a community that became family. Venetis owns and operates Leoni's Pizzeria, which has also been serving Southwest Florida for over 20 years and earned awards for their entrees. |

Steve Drivas Steve Drivas founded the Sunflower Café in 1999, with his brother Louie and nephew Nikos. He was a devoted chef and each meal he made was a masterpiece. Drivas was a hard worker and determined all his life. He spent many long nights and hard hours with his nephew to ensure that when they opened up Sunflower Café that it would be incredible. |
